Complications of Chest Tube Insertion


  • Bleeding 
  • Infection
  • Visceral Injury
  • Intercostal nerve or vessel injury
  • Air Leaks
  • Subcutaneuous or Mediastinal Ephysema
  • Reexpansion hypotension, hypoxia, or pulmonary edema
  • Reoccurence of pneumothorax after chest tube removal.
